From scattered folders to a photo library.
My Local Photos runs on a computer you manage. It catalogs selected photo locations, prepares helpful previews and search information, and makes the library available through its web interface.

Use a 64-bit Linux computer you manage: an AMD64 machine with an Intel or AMD processor (such as a Mini PC or home server), or an ARM64 machine such as a Raspberry Pi running a 64-bit operating system. The host runs the photo application and handles indexing tasks, so it needs reliable access to the storage locations you want to use.
Point the application to the folders containing your existing photos. Depending on the supported release and your environment, these may include local drives and mounted shares on a home network.
The application discovers supported images and builds the catalog that powers its gallery. Processing may include metadata extraction, thumbnail creation, and AI-based search indexing. Large collections take time; processing performance depends on your hardware and file set.
Open the application from a supported browser and start exploring your collection. Navigate visually, open images, and use search to find a remembered subject or scene.
Your photo folders are the source. The application maintains supporting library information such as metadata, previews, and search indexes. Running this work locally gives you more control over storage and processing, while also making installation, network permissions, backup, and device maintenance your responsibility.
My Local Photos is a photo browsing, organization, and discovery product. It is not intended to replace a full image editor, a tested original-photo backup strategy, or good security practices on your home network.
