My Local Photos (“we”, “us”) is self-hosted photo-management software sold as a one-time Home License for personal, non-commercial household use. This notice explains how we handle personal data in connection with this website, license purchases, the software download, license activation, and support requests. Contact: [email protected].
The software runs on hardware you control. We do not receive your photos, face data, search queries, or library database.
We collect personal data only when you buy or activate a license or contact us—for example, your name, email address, order details, and the content of your messages.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Information you send us. When you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, your message, and any attachments you choose to send, such as logs or screenshots. Please remove photos or personal details you do not want to share before sending.
License purchases. Home Licenses are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our reseller and merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects and processes your payment and billing details under its own privacy policy (lemonsqueezy.com/privacy). It shares with us your name, email address, country, order details, and license key. We never receive your full card details.
License activation. License keys are issued and managed by Lemon Squeezy. When you activate, validate, or deactivate a license, the Software sends your license key and an identifier for your installation to Lemon Squeezy's licensing service. It does not send your photos or library data.
Website and download hosting. This website runs on Google Sites, and the installation packages are distributed through Google Drive. When you visit or download, Google may process technical data such as your IP address, browser information, and cookies, as described in the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy). We do not add our own analytics or advertising trackers.
Data processed by the software. My Local Photos catalogs photos, metadata, faces you choose to detect, and search information on your own host. This data stays on your devices and under your control; we have no access to it unless you deliberately send it to us. Some features may connect to the internet—for example, to download AI models or updates, or to validate your license—which shares standard technical information, such as your IP address, with the server involved, but not your photos.
We use personal data to process purchases, provide and manage your license, answer your questions, provide support, investigate and fix problems, improve the software, and meet legal obligations. Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on the performance of our contract with you (for purchases and licenses), our legitimate interest in responding to and supporting users, your consent where we ask for it, and compliance with legal obligations such as tax and accounting rules.
We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us operate, such as Lemon Squeezy for sales and license keys and Google for email and hosting; when required by law; or to protect the rights and safety of our users and others. We keep purchase and license records for as long as your license is active and as long as tax and accounting laws require. We keep support correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your request and for a reasonable period afterwards—generally no more than 24 months—unless the law requires longer.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
My Local Photos is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16; if you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it. We use reasonable measures to protect the information we receive. Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, using appropriate safeguards where required. The security of your self-hosted installation—passwords, updates, and network exposure—is your responsibility.
We may update this notice from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest version, and significant changes will be highlighted on this site. Questions or requests: [email protected].
