Personal pictures hold a lifetime of experiences. My Local Photos is developed around a local-first approach: use hardware and storage you manage, and choose the photo locations you want the software to catalog.
The application is designed to run on your own host rather than making a vendor-operated photo library the default destination for your originals. Photo discovery and indexing can use local application services and locally installed AI components in supported configurations.
You decide which folders are available, where the server runs, and how your local network is administered. You are also responsible for maintaining backups of your original photos and protecting access to the device that hosts the application.
Our Privacy Notice explains the limited personal data we handle—mainly the emails you send us—and how this website and the download are hosted. The software runs on your hardware; we do not receive your photos or library data.
Use a strong account password, install security updates, limit storage permissions, and avoid exposing a self-hosted service directly to the public internet without an appropriately secured remote-access solution. Local hosting increases control; it does not remove normal cybersecurity risks.
Your original photo files remain yours. The My Local Photos Home License covers the software only, and it never gives us any rights to your photographs.
